Jungfraujoch with a guide, the day after the lake

A 7-hour guided day from Interlaken up to Jungfraujoch: coach to Grindelwald Terminal, the cable car to Eiger Glacier, the cog train to Europe's highest railway station and the Sphinx terrace over the Aletsch Glacier. It is not a boat trip; it is the mountain day most people pair with a day on the lakes.

Guided Tour to Jungfraujoch, Top of Europe

About this experience

This is the site's one trip with no water in it. A guide takes you by coach from Höheweg 95 in Interlaken to Grindelwald Terminal, up by cable car to Eiger Glacier and on by cog train to Jungfraujoch. At the top you get at least 2 hours, guaranteed: the Sphinx terrace over the Aletsch Glacier, the Plateau, the Ice Palace tunnels and the Alpine Sensation walk. The train down passes Wengen to Lauterbrunnen, where the coach waits for the drive back.

Why it sits on a boat site: most visitors spend one day high and one day low. The lakes are the low day. Interlaken Ost is the station for the Jungfrau trains and the pier for the Lake Brienz boats, so a lake morning and a mountain day start from the same place. Pass holders take note: the Berner Oberland Pass does not cover the top section to Jungfraujoch, and this tour includes the cable car and both train legs.

The group is large, up to 48, with reserved seats and priority boarding. Meals and drinks are extra; restaurants are at the top. Bring your passport or ID. The tour is not suitable for children under 2, wheelchair users or people with altitude sickness, and Jungfrau Railways asks that you are fit and healthy, in good footwear. Routing can change during maintenance work or with the seasons.
