This is a road tour by minibus. There is no boat ride on it. Tourvana Adventures picks you up from your hotel within 10 km of Interlaken and drives along Lake Thun to three castles: Oberhofen, with its gardens and lakeside tower, Thun, with the medieval museum in its towers and the view over the old town, and Spiez, among vineyards with its Romanesque chapel. There is storytelling at each stop, free time for photos and coffee, and entry to one castle of your choice.
Who is it for? People who want all three castles in half a day with no timetables. All three sit on the shore and can be reached by the scheduled BLS boat, and if you want the lake under you, the BLS day pass stops at Oberhofen, Spiez and Thun. By public transport, three castles in a morning is a tight plan; by minibus it is easy. The group is eight at most.
Castle hours are seasonal, which affects your choice of entry. MySwitzerland lists Oberhofen Castle as open mid-May to the end of October, and Schloss Thun opens on Sundays only from November to January. Thun Castle's museum is free with a Swiss Travel Pass, so pass holders may want to pick Oberhofen or Spiez as their included entry. Food and drinks are not included and not allowed in the vehicle.
